The kids. Only reason. Like someone else stated, you CAN make a difference. Sure they will push, and try you, and stress you out, but any job working with underprivileged or at risk youth will wield the same.

The "upper management". The directors, site managers, lack of consistency when coming down the chain of command. Being treated like, and talked to like we were also in the program. Belittling. Hard overworked with inadequate pay and no real breaks at work. Hardly any backup or support when needed. Constant overturn of employees. Employees being fired for "breaking rules" that were constantly changing or being altered to fit current moods. Have met a couple new employees (summer 2013) who said that because of a complete overhaul of Directors and people running the organization that to them it seemed to be getting better. When talking to old employees, they were still leaving, still unhappy.
