Contras

RTB House was once recognized for its positive work environment, collaborative culture, and approachable leadership that genuinely valued employee development and recognition. However, this reality has deteriorated significantly in recent years, largely as a result of the leadership approach within commercial teams. The Account Management leadership bears direct responsibility for the current state of the team. There is a clear pattern of detachment and an inability to communicate effectively with employees. Dialogue is minimal and often restricted to tools such as Asana, while requests, concerns, and feedback are frequently ignored. This reflects a fundamental failure in people management and in fostering a transparent and functional work environment. There is also a consistent lack of investment in internal talent. Opportunities for growth are limited, with a clear preference for external hiring over promoting and developing individuals within the team. This not only undermines morale but also signals a disregard for employee contributions and long-term development. Targets are set without alignment to operational reality, and despite clear challenges, there is no acknowledgment or adjustment from leadership. Instead, the team is subjected to constant and disproportionate pressure, without the necessary support to succeed. Disorganization and frequent, unstructured changes in processes further exacerbate execution challenges—again reflecting poor leadership direction. A critical failure lies in the lack of leadership support in client management, compounded by excessive micromanagement from the Head of Account Management. Responsibilities are consistently pushed onto the team, even in situations that require direct senior involvement — involvement that simply does not happen. At the same time, the Head operates in a way that is completely misaligned with the expectations of the role, functioning mainly at a internal level, centralizing decisions, controlling irrelevant details, and introducing unnecessary processes merely to sustain the micromanagement. The result is a inefficient and draining work environment, with no strategic benefit — a direct reflection of absent, disorganized, and ultimately very weak leadership. Unsurprisingly, the result is a highly demotivated team. What is most concerning is the apparent lack of accountability or meaningful reflection from the Account Management leadership regarding the root causes of this situation, as well as the absence of effective corrective actions.

**this is true for the US market. I cannot speak to any other markets but assume many of the core 'pros' are the same across RTB House.** Re: benefits, competitive pay and outstanding healthcare are table stakes at RTB House; 100% remote (major pro), but there are offices around the globe as well as options for a coworking space membership in many cities for anyone who might prefer a hybrid routine (HR explains in onboarding); your preference for Mac vs. PC to name a few The product is ACTUALLY superior to competition in the market. Why? RTB House has continued to invest in it, push the envelope on whatever is going on in the industry at a given moment, and always lead with driving business outcomes for our clients as our 'North Star.' Leadership is all on the same page, and that vision is cascaded down. It's a rigorous culture and you are expected to work hard. That is a GOOD thing. It's a culture that makes you want to level up. The WFH model doesn't work for companies who don't properly compensate their employees, plan in-person engagements, and overall nurture an atmosphere of "we're here to work really, really hard. We hope you are here to do the same, and because of that, enjoy a flexible and comfortable lifestyle." Re: recruitment process, I kept in touch with the team over ~6 months as there wasn't initially a perfect fit for me in the business when we began talking. Once there was a role that fit my strengths, the process was transparent and efficient, and both sides had opportunity to ensure it was a good match. Onboarding is well organized and the local HR + admin/support teams make themselves available from day one.

Contras

For some, the top-down management from HQ in Poland seems to be frustrating. I imagine this could be particularly true for "middle" management rather than associates (aka individual contributors). With the recent perspective of a company where decisions were just simply NEVER made, I appreciate concrete direction and guidance.
