Contras

Very bro-y culture — people in leadership aren’t really qualified as it’s just heavily referral based from the same type of backgrounds like Pivotal/VMware/Kessel Run. Claims to want to transform the government yet only fast tracks and hires people from said gov-type companies.

- focused on shipping mission outcomes and real results to the customer, what we are doing actually matters. I feel fulfilled because I can see the results of my contribution. - professional development is huge at Rise8, they'll invest in you. They'll pay up to $3K per year for you to take courses, certificates, etc anything to help you do better at your job - culture/team in any area of Rise8 is fantastic which is rare. Rise8 has an A Player policy. Everyone I have worked with is passionate, competent and kind. - I believe in the C-suite team at Rise8, I am on board with the vision and mission of the company

Contras

- no equity - work/life balance. In general what I've seen are people who prioritize work/life balance are usually mediocre at both. It's a start-up so work/life balance isn't as prioritized

- 10% 401k matching - really smart coworkers - generous benefits

Contras

Beware the high ratings. CEO and leadership team told employees to rate R8 and inflate their own standing. It's a cult over here. - benefits are golden handcuffs - reactionary PIP culture - claims to "fire customers" if they're a bad fit, but puts employees in the line of fire - make you sign an "A-player agreement" when onboarding, which mostly is a CYA for them to hold you to nebulous standards and shifting goal posts. The initial offer and package seem dazzling, but the juice isn't worth the squueze. I've known 3 people either fired or left in the last 2 months who reported boss' lying saying there wasnt enough work for their role, only to see their job posted the next day. Way too many meetings, micromanaging, and leadership who thinks highly of their own impact. They have some home runs early on and kept riding that wave that is quickly falling flat. I would never recommend someone work here. Looking for a way out but this job market is awful.
