1. Why John Holland 2. Describe a time you overcome a difficulty

1. John Holland has earned a reputation that very few construction and infrastructure companies in Australia can match — not just for the scale of what they deliver, but for the way they deliver it. Their work across rail and transport, major infrastructure, and building and development represents exactly the disciplines I am most passionate about, and the Graduate Program offers something I genuinely cannot find elsewhere: the chance to learn from some of the most experienced engineers in the country, on projects that fundamentally shape how communities live and move. What draws me to John Holland specifically is their commitment to developing people, not just delivering projects. I want to grow into a well-rounded engineer and future project leader, and I believe the structured exposure, mentorship, and real project responsibility that John Holland's Graduate Program provides is the right environment to do that. I am not looking for just any graduate role — I am looking for the foundation of a long career, and John Holland is where I want to build it. 2. Moving to Australia meant leaving a senior engineering role behind and rebuilding from scratch — new country, new industry standards, no local track record. I needed to close that gap quickly and credibly, while simultaneously completing a demanding postgraduate degree. I focused entirely on what I could control: earned High Distinction results and a Dean's Award at UTS, obtained my White Card, gained local site experience through Desh Constructions, and sought out volunteer procurement work to understand Australian industry practice firsthand. Within a year I had gone from new arrival to working Project Engineer with a local employer and a graduate-level qualification nearly complete. More than the outcomes, I learned that rebuilding with purpose is faster than it looks — and that starting over, done right, is just another way of starting stronger.
