After speaking with an internal recruiter, the position seemed like it was going to be a lot of traveling since they were mainly looking for someone to be able to capture drone footage of job sites. I asked about their gas reimbursement policy which she they had one but didn’t fully explain. I asked if there’d be company vehicles I could take, because I’m not putting miles on my own vehicle besides getting to and from work/home. She was very unclear about that as well. They touted a work/life balance in the form of a hybrid work environment in the job description. When I asked what does that look like exactly, she stated that it’s 4 days in the office, 1 day from home. That’s not hybrid, that’s Summer Fridays at best. After our conversation, I was asked to take one of those psychological predictive index tests and then they would decide if I could move on in the process. Not a big fan of those either as they're not a great benchmark indicator to determine one's suitability in a role. Those tests can also be incredibly discriminatory towards introverts and neurodivergents unless you full on lie and tell it what it wants to hear. I decided to withdraw my application so I wouldn't waste my time any further.
