Having submitted an application for a role advertised by Alex Partners on LinkedIn, I was contacted by a Partner at the firm to discuss the role and my experience. The initial call was 30 minutes long and at the end of it the partner in question said they wanted to progress with my application to the next stage which would be an initial conversation with a member of senior management at the French Private Equity Fund which had contracted Alex Partners to fill the role. She said she would set this up in the next couple of days. This Partner at Alex Partners then effectively ghosted me. I chased up my application via phone and email with no response. I am a seasoned professional with 8+ years’ experience and the role we were discussing was of senior manager level. I was therefore astounded by the unprofessionalism exhibited by Alex Partners. I work in recruitment, and I wouldn’t treat a graduate with no experience with the carelessness I have experienced.
