First of all, Allstate hires via an outside recruiter firm. The recruiter contacts you via phone for the initial interview. Pass that and you get a shot at the personality test that almost everybody passes. Then you get scheduled for a panal interview with two section leaders. These people are not exactly the brightest bulbs, but they have survived long enough to be groomed for supervisory slots. They write down what they think you said in the interview and ask you the usual "Tell me about a time When", questions. Then if you impress them enough, you get a one on one with the actual office manager. This person asks you questions about your resonses and then sends you into the office area to sit with another adjuster to see what the position is like. After all this process they check your background and run a credit check on you. Three weeks later you get an offer in the mail and by phone from the recruiter. This will be the only time that salary will be discussed and it is much lower than median pay for the work required.
