The interviewer went through the role qualifications and requirements. She explained what the daily work is like and told me what the expectations are. She also told me about the rate and benefits. We went through to see if my experience and skills fit the role.

I received an email 2 weeks after applying. Was offered a chance for an interview. The first interview was about 15-20 minutes and it was basically the person prepping me for the 1 hour interview and asking questions about my experience. The second interview was scheduled before this second one. They sent multiple emails to remind me and also detailing all the steps. The process was transparent. However, the second, 1-hour interview was not good. I understood that i was expected to know all of Amazon's 10+ leadership principles, and that I was supposed to answer three questions about three different ones, which I didn't know ahead of time. Nevertheless, the questions were extremely specific and there was no guidance as to how I was supposed to answer them or how they related to any of the leadership principles. The second part of that 60 minute interview, which actually occurred first, was a writing part where I was given an AI prompt and two potential answers. I was given 20 minutes to research the accuracy of the answer and write one paragraph about which answer, if any or both, was the best. I had no other guidance as to what I would be evaluated on, other than just being able to Google info fast. Clearly I failed. The best thing about the process was that it was transparent in terms of steps. However, the evaluation is flawed and doesn't really let you show your skills. Mind you, this is a role where they want someone with a BA and experience in computer science or even a Masters! And they pay 22 an hour and it's 40 hours on site. Amazon is a terrible company. I will avoid applying to jobs with them and buying from them in the future.
