Ambassador Software's interview process was thorough. It consisted of multiple stages (i.e. personality phone call, at-home engineering challenge, and a 3-hour on-site panel interview (with a team lunch)). The phone call was 30 minutes and was meant to better understand me as a person and my skills and to gauge personality compatibility with the team; the engineering challenge was quite difficult. I had to develop, host, and write about a website per a spec; the panel interview was more akin to a traditional interview and ended with a company-wide team lunch to gain a non-formal perspective on the company. Overall a great and thorough experience!

Honestly, I cannot recall a specific question; however, the most difficult aspect of this interview was the engineering challenge. Developing, hosting, and writing about it required quite a bit of skill, effort, and time.

After miscommunications and rescheduling a couple of times I had an extremely brief catchup call with the new HR person after a past interview including an in-person interview (which received no response or follow up), this time it was with a direct referral to the CEO. This time it felt more like I was just being entertained with a phone conversation, was told about how much of a change had gone on in the past year, no real inquiry about myself other than asking if I was interested as well as where I had worked in between applications, then promptly received a generic email declining my application the next day. Really disappointing "improvement" in organization and poor approach to declining candidates after a warm introduction. Plenty of room to improve.
