Entrevista
I went through a lengthy process after the initial recruiter interview, waiting about a month before hearing back regarding interviews with two hiring managers. When I asked the recruiter about the interview format, I was informed they would follow the STAR method, which felt somewhat formal and didn’t align with the flow I was expecting. I also specifically asked if I needed to prepare a portfolio presentation and was told it wasn’t required. However, during the interview, I was asked to present, which caught me off guard. It would have been helpful to know ahead of time so I could better prepare and feel more confident.
The company seems to be going through a transition, likely due to a recent acquisition, and there appears to be some uncertainty regarding the design team's role and expectations. This was a bit concerning, especially for what was positioned as an entry-level role. Additionally, the responsibilities of the UX/UI Specialist role seemed to lean more towards user research than UX design, which wasn’t clearly communicated in the job description.
