It took me 2 days to research what one-way interviews are about, what are the common questions and best way to answer them, and then another 4-6 hours to go through the process (SparkHire) and record and re-record my answers to those question ("tell me about yourself", "why do you think you're a fit for this role", etc.) It was quite challenging for me as I am not a natural "presenter" (one-way interviews should really be called presentations - that's what they are). The next day after I submitted my video responses they came back with a rejection: "your video responses looked too prepared, rehearsed vs. natural and off-the-cuff to the team". So that was quite a waste of energy - but at least I learned to never ever do 1-way interviews again, and certainly never ever work for this company. Note that we didn't even get to technical assessments or questions - they said "no" purely based on the way I conducted myself in those video recordings. That's the 2nd red flag, that they made a determination purely on appearance and not on a fitness to company culture or the role. (The 1st red flag was conducting one-way interviews in the 1st place.) Red flag No. 3: one-way interviews offer zero opportunity to learn more about the company, to interview the interviewers. So overall, a very negative experience, regretfully.
