The phone interview was a little bit awkward as the individual interviewing had a very slow and drawn out speaking style. Following the phone interview (summer time) I played phone tag with the hiring manager for about 6 months following up repeatedly with no idea of where I stood. I was repeatedly assured that I was still under consideration and that the managers were busy traveling so interviewing would be difficult. Finally in December I was asked to take a trip to California to interview in person. The company was looking for an in town hire so my travel was on at my expense. My in person interview was with the hiring manager and two other engineers. The culture was obviously very laid back and casual from the moment I arrived at the office. I have since been hired at this company and the interview process is significantly more refined and the environment less casual.
