This position was entry level and I applied as a recent MSc graduate (with few years of internship experiences). In total it lasted 1 hour and was initiated by the group leader and another scientist who was part of the group.
General questions in the beginning, I had to explain my background etc. Then why am I applying for this specific position and if I think I am a good match/how I can contribute with specific skills. In my opinion both of them were trying to put me in a difficult position. I have worked in another big pharma in another country in the past and they asked me "what if this company was in Berlin, would you apply for them?". Honey in this job market you bet I would! For me this behavior was pretentious and rude, it's like they wanted me to say I have only applied for this SPECIFIC job and of course only your company! Of course I said I have made other applications in other companies but yours is my top choice for this and that reason. Honestly though, this interview felt very unnatural for me as they focused too much on the company name and expected to hear lies! Name me one person in 2025 that only applies for one company and one specific role! Completely out of touch with the real-world. I knew they had in mind to reject me at this point.
In the end they said it would take them 1-2 weeks max to reply to me. I got a negative and AUTOMATIC response exactly 1 month after the interview. Seriously, stay away from companies that have so much disrespect for applicants!
