Candidatei-me por indicação de um funcionário. O processo levou 2 meses. Fui entrevistado pela Boston Consulting Group (Londres, Inglaterra) em abr. de 2016
Entrevista
After being referred by a friend, I was invited to interview about a month later. The first round consisted of two interviews with project leaders, starting with competency based questions and followed by fairly formal and (compared to practice books) quite straightforward cases. The graphs and maths were both fairly simple to interpret and I felt the main point was to show a structure, think out loud and to establish a connection with the interviewer just as much as to crack the case. The second round was quite different, with three interviews with partners, all of which were much less structured. These interviews were to assess your creativity (for example, brainstorming until you ran out of ideas, or following up an apparently ludicrous idea) as well as your ability to structure a case. These also started with competency questions.

Standard competency questions in first round.
Much more open questions in second round.
Although supposedly interviewee-led, I found the interviewers were helpful and happy to have a discussion rather than leaving you hanging if you got stuck.

Experience based on the campus recruitment process - Buddy interviews (non-evaluative) followed by two rounds of case interviews and some typical Human Resource questions, such as introduction, Why consulting? Why BCG?

Online maths assessment via chatbot. R1 was 2 case studies back to back with consultants/principals online, pretty standard cases with a few fit questions. R2 was same format but with partners. I had a very tough unconventional case for one of them and an unpleasant interviewer who gave a lot of negative responses, but in hindsight that may have been pressure testing.

Entrevista
I first received a call to schedule the interviews. Before the main interview, I completed an online case with a chatbot, which was an interesting and structured exercise.
The first interview included a short FIT interview (about 15 minutes) followed by a case. The interviewer was very friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely willing to help — overall, a very positive experience.
The second round consisted of two cases and two FIT interviews. This experience was less positive: one interviewer came across as quite negative about the company, which left a poor impression, while the other interviewer was professional and helpful.
In the final round, I had two cases and two interviews — one with a Principal and one with a Partner. The interview with the Principal was disappointing, as he was distracted and spent much of the time on his laptop or phone. However, the interview with the Partner was very engaging — I learned a lot, and he gave valuable insights into the firm and its culture.
Overall, the process was well-structured and intellectually interesting, but the experience varied greatly depending on the interviewer.
