Quite a different interview process. The phone screen is just like any other you would go through but the in-person is very different. It started with a technical interview which was fairly straightforward and normal. They pride themselves on being honest, so I got immediate feedback based on that.
From there I went on to the discussion group, where I was given a list of topics to choose one and discuss with others. This was fairly interesting as we threw back and forth ideas based on the chosen topic. I actually enjoyed this portion of the interview as it was a relaxing time.
The next portion is what turned fairly weird. It was based around being able to deal with the company culture. I fully understand what they were trying to accomplish, but the execution was poor. I have no problem with anyone challenging my ideas or thought process, but it seemed like the main person conducting this portion didn't want anyone working there that wasn't exactly like him.
I believe at the root of it that is part of the problem with the IT side of the company. It felt like I was talking to a different person with the exact same personality over and over. If they want to expand, hire great people, with different thought processes.
