There was a set of three phone calls, one from each department manager and then the director. These calls were approximately thirty minutes in length. Each of them asked general questions about my resume. They also described the position and the skills that would be necessary to succeed in the role.

Unfortunately the interview process was very misleading. I interviewed with the hiring manager which went very well. They said things like “you are my top candidate.” I was also told that I may be qualified for a higher position and they said they were going to email me other opportunities. They showed energy and excitement with statements such as “let’s get you in this company.”
After that interview, there was no correspondence. After waiting two weeks, I asked for a status update and was sent a generic denial.
I understand that the market is competitive. It’s unfortunate that mid level hiring managers have the ability (with no recourse) to talk with such conviction but have no real intention or genuine care for the candidate and their emotional well-being.
I am writing this so a company like CSC who has a core value “Genuine: We are direct, open, and honest. We exhibit the highest level of integrity. We build trust” is aware that isn’t being carried out in all functions and definitely not portrayed by the hiring manager.
