The process consisted of multiple rounds. It started with a recruiter phone screen focusing on my background and motivation. Then I had a technical coding challenge via HackerRank, followed by a virtual interview with two engineers. That round focused on system design, problem-solving, and questions about past projects. The final stage was a virtual panel interview including behavioural questions aligned with Canva’s values. The interviewers were professional and kind, but the questions were challenging and required deep technical insight. Overall, the process was well-structured but quite competitive.

Q: What was the one thing that they asked you?
A: They asked me to design a scalable system to handle image uploads with processing and storage optimised for performance. Follow-up questions were about trade-offs, caching strategies, and how I’d ensure reliability under high load.
