I recently had the opportunity to interview for the Senior Full Stack Engineer Atlas AI position at Cognite, and I want to start by saying the interview itself was a positive experience. The interviewers were professional, approachable, and made the session engaging and comfortable. However, I did notice a significant discrepancy in the information provided about the interview format. It was described as a 90-minute session focused on system design and application development, but the actual interview lasted 60 minutes and focused on solving a LeetCode-style coding problem. While I managed to solve the problem, I had prepared extensively for the originally described format, and the mismatch was unexpected. Ultimately, I was informed that Cognite decided to move forward with other candidates due to their specific needs for this critical role. While I respect the decision and appreciate the team's prompt communication, I would have valued more specific feedback to understand areas where I could improve.
