After completing the online tests, you will be invited to the offices in London for a Pit Trading Game. If you pass this stage, you will have three more interviews: one with HR, one with the team, and a final one with the CEO.

Pymetrics followed by AC then two interviews. The AC involves a pit trading game which is assessed, however this can only be assessed qualitatively since too many external factors influence how the game plays out. For example, there is no penalty for your group ignoring fair value, group members who cannot grasp the terminology quickly ruin the tempo of the game for others. It is not clear what qualities you have to exhibit to pass this round, I’ve heard people saying its about confidence and trade volume and not about PNL, however many people have failed despite showing these qualities. The single HR member who oversees the assessment conducts these multiple times per month and forgot our names by the end of the assessment(they literally said “I’ve forgotten your names”), so its unclear how they can even remember participants names after the assessment to retrospectively evaluate their performance and pass/fail. After completing the assessment the HR member asks for your net position (it is emphasised at the start of the game that they’re looking for a flat position so no long/short shares at the end) however there is nothing that stops you from lying to look better. From participating in the AC and speaking to countless others who have progressed and been rejected, I cant help but feel like its down to luck whether you pass - your group needs to participate properly and the assessor needs to notice you. It’s a great break from the usual hirevue after OA but this game seems careless and not well thought out.
