I was interviewed twice for the Program Leader position, but the person who interviewed me did not ask me any prepared interview questions. The first interview, she was driving her car and the second interview, she asked me what questions I had about the job. She did not have prepared questions and only answered my questions during both interviews. I felt the interview was biased since I'm an African American female in the protected age group, I was not asked about my relevant job experience, and I subsequently did not get the job.

A month after I applied I was invited to a Skype interview, which was a standard first-round interview. A week and a half after that Skype interview I was invited into the office to meet with another person. After another somewhat lengthy gap, I was invited back to the office to meet with the same two people and to complete a writing exercise. Another two weeks later, they told me I wasn't the right fit. Overall the process was very warm and inviting. Decker is crystal clear on their culture and that they are hiring for culture. Everyone was friendly and funny. From the standpoint of logistics, the process seemed a bit disorganized—it didn't feel like the company was executing any particular strategy in how the process was set up. They were unclear on who this role would be reporting to, and they didn't have a timeline. After each step I was given a timeframe for when to expect to hear from Decker. And, in each case, they were more than a week behind that schedule. All that being said, it was a positive experience. While I was not offered the job, I am left with an overall positive impression of the company.
