I was recommended by a former colleague who was currently in the same position to an identical position in a different city. After numerous phone calls, e-mails, I worked with an HR recruiter directly to set up an phone interview. The phone interview was very simplistic, basically asking why are you qualified for the position. 6 weeks later (probably due to the holidays), I received an email for setting up a face to face interview. That interview was with three managers from different departments asking some technical questions and a lot of behavioral questions. Two days after that interview, I was asked to come in for another face to face with the hiring manager. This interview was weird, asking things like "Are you certain you're qualified for this position?" and "Won't you get bored doing this?" The people were very nice but the hiring manager was difficult to understand going from very friendly to very competitive.
