I started as intern right after college and they asked me to show some of my work, but I didn't have any. So, they trained me as an intern. They wanted to see if I was able to spot grammatical errors and redundant information. They wanted to know what I felt about resumes that were too lengthy or too short. They also tested me on my content organization skills. They would present a couple of resumes from customers and wanted to me spot and list what areas needed improvement and what aspects of the resume were exceptional.
