The last person who interviewed for this position hit the nail on the head. The marketing side of Spry Squared is indeed a Mickey Mouse operation. It's a husband and wife team with a last name of "Spry," hence the very cheese-o-licious company name of "Spry Squared." Get it? Yeahhhh. They continue to throw stuff up against the wall to see if it will stick. There is no leadership, no protocol, and no proactive ideas on how to get where they supposedly want to be. They love their pugs to death, so much so that they even purchased the domain of pugsquared.com. They thought this would be a GREAT way of marketing their services while at the same time expressing their unwavering love for their three pugs, all of whom they talk baby talk to all day long from their home office. Yes, it's very professional. At the interview I was told that they would be leasing an office, probably within days of me starting at the company. This was one of many things that Spry Squared never managed to achieve, in large part because they wanted an office space that would allow for them to bring their dogs to work and could not find a landlord that would accommodate them. There are two divisions of Spry Squared, one which relates to employment recruiting and one which relates to business marketing. The recruiting side seems to be doing very well and it is where all the money is made in the business. The marketing side, on the other hand, is a complete train wreck. Linda Spry, director of marketing, does not know the first thing about digital marketing but pretends to and I think actually believes that she does, which is really dangerous to potential employees as well as potential clients. I was there for five months and I believe I was the longest tenured employee in the company's three year history. Every relationship with employees and subcontractors, of which there were many during my five months at the company, ended badly. What does this tell you? If you are desperate and need some income while you are looking for other options, Spry Squared might not be a bad place to work. Being that they do not know a thing about digital marketing, the bar is set very low in terms of responsibilities. But if you are looking to advance your career, or having a rewarding position with a successful company, I recommend you move on.
