- Applied online
- Got contacted pretty fast by the recruiters, they were pretty straightforward with the process and first round was quickly scheduled
- First round was with a dev, quick talk about some tech background from me and the company, easy going guy and conversation
- Then I had to go through a list of back-end related questions and to do a scramblies sort of API challenge, which was done with the desired tech stack, clojure
- Got no feedback about the challenge, but second interview invitation arrived, it was a talk with another dev, a bit longer but pretty informal and easy going as well
- Received a low ball offer, $15 as a starter pack for sort of training stage before entering a project, looks like this is the normal entry for all Back End devs
- Second option would be to go right way to a front end project and receive something more acceptable for a senior
- At this stage everything got messy, each recruiter telling me a different thing, one making offer, other willing to schedule Front End interview with something I didnt have expertise, devs sending me random invites for interviews
- I decided not continuing, I can easily see how problematic can be for example the payroll if an interview process get messed up that way, plus, they don't consider senior backgrounds and put everyone on the same training bucket, which is pretty badly paid for BE devs
