Final stage interview (4.5hr) 4.follow up After going through the entire interview process I had a follow-up meeting in which they demoted the position I would be applying to from a SFE 1 to SDE 2 and also made me sell myself again to make sure I was a good fit for the job (what was the entire point of a 4.5hr final stage interview). When they gave me the offer they gave me the lowest range offer that was discussed even after telling them previously that the bottom was lower than what I was currently making (spoke with the recruiter previous to the final stage). Gave zero wiggle room to negotiate and only started to negotiate when I told them I accepted another offer. Asked for references before making an offer as well. A highly disappointing interview process that was truly a waste of time for everyone.
