Guidepoint interview Was phone screened and then the next day was emailed for an in person. I personally met with six people, one every half hour for the first two hours. The people who interview you are research managers who generally ask the same questions, but they all come in and begin with "i don't know what the last guys talked to you about so why don't we start with your background." Half of them didn’t care to be there, I remember one of them reclining in his chair with his arms crossed asking questions while barely making eye contact with me. Following that is an hour long, timed mock project where you are given three options of requests and you had to choose one. The project entails you being given a request by one of your clients, they want to learn more about X industry or X company and you have to find out if there is someone in the world who is best suited to fill this role. This requires you to google people and go on LinkedIn to find qualified individuals. That’s right, you’re pretty much a recruiter. After that you went back to the conference room where you meet with the head of global strategic search and a recruiting consultant separately. The global head goes over your mock project and your resume and grills you on why you want to work in this position all the while spanning your resume and asking why someone with your background would want to work there. To be honest he sort of dissuaded me from wanting to continue with the process, which is ironic considering many of the managers spoke of how they are in "immediate need of analysts." The recruiting consultant is last and he simply asks you about how your day went and what you felt about the whole process and the research analyst role, then takes your application and escorts you out.

I thought the initial call went well and then they never contacted me again. Very unprofessional of them in my opinion, at least reject me rather than ghosting me. It sounded like a cool job too.
