I applied online. A recruiter replied quickly and set up a phone interview with the hiring manager. At the end of that phone interview, the manager asked me to send writing samples to the recruiter. When I tried, my message bounced, so I tried to submit them through the online-application web site. This seemed to work, but to be sure, I left voicemail for the recruiter, telling her what I had done and asking her to verify that she had received my samples. That was months ago. I never heard from the recruiter or anyone else at Guidewire again.

Entrevista
The writing team was stellar, recruiting not so much. The sourcer IMed me 6 times with the canned template during the course of the hiring process, 5 of which were while I was in talks with them and one as late as the morning of the offer. It mitigated the experience. The talent team didn’t have a good grip on how negotiations should go. I felt pushed to reveal my cards instead of them offering a reasonable package from the outset. Why play games.

Entrevista
After a very pleasant screening interview, the interview with the hiring manager was more businesslike. I didn't get the impression they cared as much about my background and experience as they did in my ability to define terminology.

Entrevista
Completely straightforward. The recruiter was straightforward and kept every one of her promises and deadlines. The hiring manager was forthright. I went to the Foster City office and spent about 4 hours in 30-minute interviews.
