It was a long process but worth the time. It started with a phone screening which was pretty standard questions on the background you have and really just to get know you bit. This was followed by some homework which was unique enough. Since I was not locally sourced I went through multiple rounds of Google hangouts which were not smooth due to some technical issues however the recruiter made sure help along the way. Those challenges did not help you while feeling nervous a bit.
I would say the interviews focused 80% on the cultural fit to the company and not the skills you bring along. However if you do not bring the abilities and motivation to the job this will be a tough environment to succeed in.

Tell me about a time where you had to solve a issue in the past and it made a big impact once it was solved?

I participated in a phone screen as well as an office visit to meet with multiple employees in person. While everyone I met with was awesome, the recruiters were not proactive. I was told I would hear back within a specific time frame throughout each stage of the process, and each time that time would pass and I had to reach out to the recruiter.
Gusto is big on values, as I knew going in thanks to Glassdoor reviews. I was ultimately very disappointed with the process, as I was told after my in person interview that their hiring needs would be postponed and I would need to regroup in 3-4 months. Twice I reached out to the recruiters I spoke with after those months past and they did not respond either time. For a company that lists "Be Transparent" as one of of their values I found the the lack of response very troubling and unprofessional.
Unless, of course, by being transparent they meant ghosting, in which case they nailed it.
