      Candidatura

Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 3 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela HCSS (Sugar Land, TX) em jan. de 2020

      Entrevista

I was a passive candidate who was approached by a recruiter commissioned by HCSS to secure a Talent Acquisition Specialist. The recruiter lauded HCSS' culture and she really sold it. It almost sounded too good to be true. What initially raised a red flag for me was that before they will even consider your resume for review, you must complete an online timed mathematics test. The test is relatively elementary and mostly word problems. Is is relatively easy but in all honestly I found it to be very pigeon-holed and a complete waste of time (particularly for a recruiter position). Once that was completed (I passed with no errors so you can deduce how easy it was) I interviewed with the hiring manager for approximately 30 minutes via telephone. The questions are common faire behavioral questions: how do you manage your time? How do you handle interoffice conflict, etc. If you pass that phase of the process, you are invited for an on-campus interview, which I was given. Expect to take a half to full day off work if you are already employed because the process takes 2-3 hours. I had to take ANOTHER mathematics test (to prove I didn't cheat). It was about twelve questions and lasted for about 15 minutes. Once that was passed, I was grilled for about two hours with the hiring manager and his team. After about an hour, I could tell that they really had no clue what they were looking for in a candidate (I asked point blank what they were looking for and got vague answers such as "someone who will work well with our team," et cetera. Furthermore, I found the culture to be rather humorless, saccharine, and sterile. Perhaps it was just the individuals on the human resources team. The fact that they had a gym, dog park, track, and a hyped up slide (which I didn't get so see as I was grilled in a conference room for about two hours) didn't really do much to impress me when faced with their hiring team. I was eventually informed by the recruiter that they wanted to move on with more candidates to seek out someone with a more "fast-paced" recruiting style. Given their demeanor, I can't imagine anything to really be fast-paced over there so it confirmed to me that they really have no idea what they are seeking in candidates (at least for a recruiter) Always remember in an interview you are interviewing and vetting them just as much as they are you. If it doesn't seem like a good fit for you, take it as a blessing that you didn't get chosen as they probably wouldn't know what to do with you in the first place. My advice to HCSS would be to cut out the extraneous mathematics examinations and give your candidates something useful - like a personality battery.
