Submit application, wait for processing, if you are lucky you get a phone interview callback. If they accept you the on-boarding process will be at least another month to do all the paperwork and get you set up to begin work. I applied at the beginning of November and didn't officially start work until mid-March. After that point there is lots of training and field trials before you officially begin field work.
