How did you handle a tough situation with a customer?

"A regular customer with my store wasn't pleased that when she went into the store to shop we never seemed to have a particular product in stock. So to make things right with the customer i gave them my name and my word that I would speak to the store manager aware of the situation. I told them that I will make sure the product gets ordered for next truck, i told the customer that if our warehouse i will be getting it next truck."
