I originally applied for their UX/UI Designer position but was contacted by a hiring manager that they would like for me interview for their UX Design Lead position as they believe this would have been a better fit for me, so I accepted and continued the interview process.
For my first in-person interview I was asked to come to their office located in downtown Chicago. I had a fantastic first interview with the 2 employees I would be working with if hired. The day after this interview I was contacted for a second interview to speak with the creative director.
When I came in a week later for my second interview I was informed the creative director had to leave early that day but they would continue with one of their UI Designers as well as the UX mentor which I met in my first interview. I was asked the same questions that were asked a week prior and afterwards was asked to look over a website and point out flaws and what I would change. From what it seemed like I believed the interview went great and expected a call or email back about next steps "ASAP" as I was told.
Turns out I waited over 2 weeks for any form of reply. I finally reached out to the recruiter to see what was going on and she informed me I would get an email by the end of the week with next steps.
I received an email stating they would be moving forward. I was a little disappointed but also not shocked since I had to wait over 2 weeks for a response back.
Overall the interview process was fine. But I do wish I was able to interview with the Creative Director instead of being asked the same questions from the same people.
