I participated in 3 fairly straightforward rounds of interviews - one with hiring manager, one with team lead, and one panel with both and another colleague. I was then asked for references and invited to speak with HR about benefits, etc. This conversation was ultimately never scheduled because I was then told that they were not moving forward with my application and my references were never contacted.
