I attended an info session for National Instruments. They liked my resume and my code portfolio and told me to stop by the job fair to obtain an interview slot. I did, and received an interview. The interview was behavioral with two technical questions. The person who gave me the interview was present while an associate interviewed me. The associate was nervous, stammered, and seemed very uncomfortable giving the interview.

Submitted resume on Friday. Received a call on the next Monday to schedule a phone interview on that Friday. A list of behavior questions like other SWE interviewees, including where did you go to high school and did you take a break during college.

Like a previous post points out, the interview is a time-waster. The initial step is a non-technical phone screen. I'm trying not to be mean but the recruiter was really annoying. Although they do inform you that they're reading off a list of questions, it is the questions themselves that I find time-wasting.
Questions like how my high school experience was, why I chose my university and how my GPA changed in high school. I was exhausted by the time I got to the 3rd question.
The funny bit is when they tell you that after discussing with an engineer, they decided not to move on. Discussing what? My high school experience? :)
I advise anyone primarily interested in a tech interview to look elsewhere.
