I applied for the role online via Indeed and was promptly contacted by the HR manager, Sarah for an initial phone conversation. This was relatively informal. We talked about my background and my motivation for applying for the role and Sarah shared with me some more details of the company and the role itself. Sarah then asked me to complete an online SQL test. Once I had completed the SQL test I was invited to a phone interview with Sarah and one of MooD's Data Architects. This interview covered mostly technical competencies and some situational questions. Again I was given lots of opportunities to ask questions about the company and the role. The next stage was a face to face interview with the Head of Software & Lead Architect and the Head of Delivery & PMO. I was given a presentation task to complete about which I had several questions all of which were answered promptly by Sarah. During the interview I was asked competency and situational questions. And after the interview I was given a brief overview of two of the products that MooD offer. The feedback given to me throughout this process was really open and honest. It was clear that I had many of the attributes that they were looking for, but there were also a couple of gaps in my technical skill set. Rather than rejecting me on that basis we had an open conversation about it and they gave me the opportunity to do a bit of shadowing with one of the existing Data Consultants to test my aptitude in the areas where I was lacking. I genuinely felt that this was done as much for my benefit as theirs. The team at MooD made the selection process really enjoyable. They're a really welcoming and encouraging group and they gave me a variety of opportunities to demonstrate my personality and skill set. I think this shows the care and attention to detail they take when making hiring decisions.
