Entrevista
The interview process was a 4 stage process:
The first stage was a call with a recruiter. This mainly focused on my current position and skill set.
The second stage was a video call with the hiring manager. This mainly focused on the role I was applying for, what I would be working on, etc.
The third stage was a take home coding assignment.
The final stage was a 2 hour in person interview in their London offices. In this interview we went over the take home coding assignment. Then went through some scenarios where I had to walk through how I would design a system or implement a feature.

How would you perform schema changes to a SQL database?

I really liked Orbital’s old hiring process. They started with a take-home coding challenge where I had to build a mini backend API for a bank with basic CRUD operations. A technical interview was then scheduled just 2–3 days later.
The interview was with the CTO, who began with a few basic questions about my background before asking me to walk through my implementation. He also had a few follow-up questions related to the challenge. Throughout the interview, he maintained a calm demeanor, making sure not to come across as intimidating. I really appreciated how he acknowledged my work, complimenting my clean implementation.
Overall, it was one of the best interview experiences I’ve had. The CTO was not only technically sharp but also very humble.
