The solution was fully functional, with trade-offs that are entirely reasonable given the expected timeframe of a couple of hours. In every other interview process I’ve been part of, the real value of a take-home assignment comes from the follow-up conversation explaining your rationale and discussing why certain decisions were made. That conversation never happened here. Instead, I received generic feedback that lacked depth or context and strongly resembled an AI-generated response, as if prompted with something like “list improvement points for this project".
