The Council retained a recruiting firm, and though I sent in two applications--one to the executive director, one to the email address supplied in the online ad--it was the recruiter who contacted me to set up the screening interview, which was conducted by phone. The recruiter provided background about the organization's current goals and asked mostly standard questions--many of them behavioral.
