Phone screen ==> Interviews==> A lengthy tech screen ==> Several panel Interviews with the team, some junior level, some senior level==> Rejection letter Interviews went alright, albeit very junior-level “text book” questions and a disconnected feeling on the team. Not sure how they could arrive at an informed decision, based on the canned questions that were asked. This is the first time that I feel I was turned down due to the inexperience of the interview team and the questions that were asked. TBH, I likely would have turned down the offer based on the disheveled/disconnected/rushed interview process alone. I feel the HR screener asked more pertinent questions than the actual hiring team. In retrospect, I get the feeling that I was a last minute add-on, so they didn’t hire the only other candidate (possibly internal) that they had for the job. Seems like a pretty good company with pretty good objectives, but they really need to focus on the candidate and their skills more, and present a more unified/planned out interview process. I would even go so far as to suggest formal interview training for the interviewers.
