When working on a group project, I was faced with a teammate who consistently missed deadlines and was difficult to reach, causing significant delays for the rest of the team. My first action was to set up a private, one-on-one conversation to understand their perspective. I learned they were struggling with a heavy course load and felt overwhelmed, not that they were being difficult on purpose. We then worked together to re-distribute some of their tasks and establish a new, more manageable timeline for their deliverables. As a result, they were able to complete their work on time, and our project was submitted successfully, all while preserving a positive working relationship.
