The interview was brief, the Lab assistant position required minimum skills in Microsoft Office and customer service. The interview was conducted by the Administrators themselves.
After hiring, Lab assistants were required to pass a basic knowledge test on ITaP procedures and information.
For promotions to a second tier position a basic interview was required. Emails were sent to those thought to be eligible to be promoted. At the final tier (Admin Senior Lab Assistant or Technical Senior Lab Assistant) there is no interview, just an email requesting a yes or no answer to the promotion.
