I am speaking from my own experience as a Chinese individual. I cannot comment on how Swedes are treated at interviews, but my own recruitment process has been a joke—unprofessional, disrespectful, non-informative, and lacking transparency.
My time was not respected; I traveled all the way to Eskilstuna only to wait for the manager to finish his meeting for about an hour. Both the manager and HR were unprofessional. They promised to get back to me soon, but I had to continually ask for updates. Finally, after two months, they informed me that the position had been transferred to the headquarters.
The manager might need some lessons just to learn how to behave in workplace. He did not get his own tea but instead enjoyed someone else pouring water into his teacup, which seemed out of place. He did not read my CV before the interview and he constantly interrupted me when I was speaking. Additionally, it's important to note that asking private questions, such as inquiring about family status, is not appropriate, not in Sweden, not in China.
