I interviewed with Signalpoint in 2013 for a position they advertised. I qualified in every area in the job description. I’d been WFR’d from another company and this looked like an opportunity to shorten my commute. Although I arrived on time, I was kept waiting about a half hour. Interview wasn’t difficult at all. Thought we were on the same page that what they needed was a smaller version of what I had been doing (smaller customer base, shorter commute, less travel, and less expense for the company). And I had done my homework on their corporate history, when I complemented the company on their unique approach to carrier services (voice and data) that my former customers in that same market space wished they could have had (I had worked with all of them back in the day). That wasn’t just empty praise, they really can develop a unique corner of their market by using what is available to them in the current regulatory environment. We ended the interview on what I thought was a high note, and I was told someone would get back to me. But in spite of the good research, the (I thought) good interview, the good impression I thought I left how I knew how clever they were in their business approach, and the great potential they had, all I got was dead air. No one in the company returned my phone calls over the course of about a month. No response to emails. I wasted a whole day and a 90+ mile trip for nothing. May have lost a few by not being aggressive in pursuing other leads, since I thought I had this. And all that following a WFR when time is of the essence, as the saying goes. Sure wish I knew what it was I did that deserved such extremely inconsiderate treatment following this interview.
