There are various verticals and teams that required a senior strategist role. I was working with the recruiter to identify the team that would be the best fit for me given my prior experience.
I was told I would interview with people across teams to help figure out where the best place would be. After the first vertical I got positive feedback and moved to the next round. I again got positive feedback and was told HR would be in touch with next steps.
HR then reached out asking me to interview for the same role on a different team that specialized in another vertical. I was again given great feedback and moved to the second round and again got great feedback from the second round and told HR would be in touch.
After a few days, I reached out to my direct HR contact to ask for an update from both teams and heard nothing back. I followed up the next week and again radio silence. I later got a generic, automated rejection note. When I reached out to the recruiter who recruited me and the HR contact I worked directly with for feedback I again heard nothing.
Thankfully, I had bonded enough with one of the interviewers, I reached out to him on LinkedIn to ask what had gone wrong cause the last I heard from him he was pleased with my past work and wanted HR to reach out with the formalities. He told me that at least for his team/vertical there was a hiring pause and he assumed it was the same for other teams.
