I was given a technical assessment test that was supposed to take "a couple hours" and it consumed about 16.
I was not paid for this work.
As far as I can tell the code I put together could be used, with modifications, as a useful tool for game artists in the company.
One of the interviewers stood me up without an explanation or apology, and the debriefing interview had to be rescheduled.
Although the original job title was Game Tools Engineer and was supposed to be development in Rust, the technical assessment test was done in Python and Blender, where I discovered that I'm now being considered for a title of Technical Artist instead, then assured it's a different name for the same thing.
After I delivered my work, I was told they're looking for someone with more knowledge of lighting, blender scripting and optimization techniques and rejected my application.
From my end it looks like a disorganized scam.
