My first interview was with the New York office of Time Inc. The interview was short and the questions were very basic--my interviewer asked me about the work I had done in college and with my current internship. We also chatted about the details of the position. Many weeks later (the whole process took much longer than I was told), I was contacted for a second interview with individuals in the Birmingham Lifestyle Group office. We arranged a 15-minute Skype interview. I had two interviewers and they asked me about my previous experience, as well as what areas I was interested in within Southern Living and what kind of assignment I would like to work on that I hadn't previously. Most of the interview was exactly like my initial phone interview. After the brief interview, I completed a Southern LIving-style writing assignment.
