Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 1 semana. Fui entrevistado pela TEKsystems (Madison, WI) em ago. de 2024
Entrevista
I recently interviewed for a help desk position through them.
The video interview was well-organized. I knew what to expect in advance and there was good communication with the recruiter. I felt that my skills were a great match for the role and what I was seeking.
The interview itself was kind of meh. I felt like one of the interviewers was just giving me a hard time and although I was arriving at the right answers through the correct process, he just wanted to throw curveballs to throw me off. Almost like they already knew who they wanted to hire and they were just looking for a reason to reject me.
After the interview, I did not have either of the interviewers emails so created a thank you email to be sent through the recruiter. I did not receive any feedback from the client whatsoever although the recruiter did forward my thanks along to them.
The position was an indefinite contract which I have never heard of before in my industry. Normally, any contracts I have seen are 3, 6 or 12 month. So it was indefinite contract, then if you were selected, you would have to apply to a permanent position when one opened. I was told that some candidates in the past have waited 5 to 10 years for that. Given my experience and past feedback from managers in similar roles at other companies, I would have succeeded in this role. The pay was also not what I expected for a 100% on-site help desk role. It was similar to what I was earning 5 years ago with half as much experience. I am in a similar role to this now, direct-hired, earning significantly more. I don't understand why there would be such a technical interview for low pay and ridiculous contract terms. I've obviously been doing this awhile and have the necessary experience per my resume and interview questions.
Anyway, I had a good experience with the recruiter and TEKSystems, but would probably pass on that specific client in the future unless it is a direct hire role or had more favorable contract terms.

One of the interview questions was asking how I would troubleshoot someone being unable to print.
