      Entrevista para Director

      13 de dez. de 2025
      Candidato(a) sigiloso(a) à entrevista
      Nenhuma oferta
      Experiência negativa
Entrevista com nível médio de dificuldade

      Candidatura

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 4 meses. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa The Good Food Institute (US).

      Entrevista

I went through a series of four interviews. I also completed a series of written tasks. After the fourth interview I heard nothing. Emails from me requesting an update went unanswered. A month later, I saw the position re-advertised. That asking why I had not been informed and received an email telling me the person responsible for informing me had gone on vacation. Unprofessional and profoundly disrespectful.

      Candidatura

Fiz uma entrevista na empresa The Good Food Institute (US).

      Entrevista

Clearly laid out, fair, and methodically carried out. It was a bit lengthy, but appropriate given the job duties and the mission of the organization. A very organized process beneficial to all.

      Candidatura

Candidatei-me online. Fui entrevistado pela The Good Food Institute (US) (New York, NY) em jan. de 2019

      Entrevista

The interview process took 3 months and involved online tests, a 3 hour timed test, a written assignment that took about 10 hours, and 3 interviews. Seriously? The last interview was cancelled hours before it was to take place and they never asked for references. If you interview with these folks, DON'T offer any constructive input about how they could improve their processes. Upper management is a close group of friends and they take any such suggestions as criticism, closing ranks as a result. My impression is that the organizations has grown rapidly and lacks any internal fiscal controls, clear reporting lines (they couldn't tell me to whom I would report), or much professionalism. On the surface, they are very nice but nonprofits are a business and top management has to at least act as though they understand that.

      Perguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pergunta 1

Typical stuff but not customized to the candidate. "Tell us about a mistake you made and what you learned from it." Standard, 'intro to human resources' questions like this for a high-level position are strange. No questions about my particular experience at all; my impression was that the interviewers (COO, current incumbent, and ED) hadn't looked at my resume at all.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We’ll be glad to address your concerns. We appreciate your interest in GFI and the time you took to engage in our hiring process. Indeed, it’s lengthy but we find--and most applicants agree--that it provides us an opportunity to get to know each other to ensure we make informed hiring decisions. We explain the steps in the process to applicants when we send the first invitation to complete a written assignment. You applied for the position on October 8, the day we posted the job opening. The job closed on December 2 (which was noted on the posting). We notified you of our decision on January 8, approximately five weeks after the position closed. Without the holiday breaks, we would have finalized this position in less than one month. We welcome suggestions from applicants. As you may recall, our executive director promptly responded to your suggestions in writing and thanked you for offering them. More generally, we survey staff anonymously every six months, and one of the questions that we care deeply about and do well on is the degree to which we welcome team input on all aspects of GFI operations. We also welcome that from applicants. In addition and with regard to the hiring process specifically, we often survey our hiring team and new employees to solicit input to further improve our process. Our hiring teams spend considerable time reading every finalist’s resume, cover letter, written assignment, and timed project. In fact, all members of our hiring teams are required to complete scorecards for every applicant assessment and interview. Everyone on the hiring team read your resume, written assignment, and timed project. We create a list of the character traits and skills we’re seeking in every position and ensure we assess them at least once through written work or interviews. We build our interview questions based on any remaining issues we’d like to address with applicants. You were applying for the finance manager role, of course, and it’s true that we have not decided whether the finance manager should report to the General Counsel or Director of Operations. As we explained to you, that will be determined based on consultation with our new GC. We apologize that you didn’t have a positive experience. We canceled your final interview to respect your time as the first two interviewers decided they would prefer not to extend an offer. We agree providing short notice on a cancellation isn’t ideal, so we’re going to revisit the practice. Interviewing is not a guarantee that we will request references, which is the final step in the process. Please feel free to contact me if you have additional suggestions you’d like to share. Thank you again for your interest in GFI, Reannon Branchesi Director of Operations and Human Resources
