After applying online I was contacted by an HR representative about one week later where we went over my skills and the requirements for the job. Scheduled a phone interview with the hiring manager for one week later. During that interview we went over the details of the job and company as well as my resume. At the end of interview he expressed interest in having me come on site. They reached out to me over email the following week to schedule a flight to Denver for the interview. On site interview was a great experience. After meeting with the hiring manager I was handed off to several other engineers. Each engineer worked on a different component of the project and had a different perspective to add. Conversations were technical in nature, but I was only presented with two coding challenges, both of which were fairly simple. The facility tour was very engaging; they took me into many of their labs and control rooms so I was able to see their rocket components up close and personal. I was scheduled to meet with the ground launch systems team but one of the interviewers was not able to make it so for one segment I instead had a conversation with some engineers working on internal web tools for the company. Many of the questions asked were non-technical. A lot of the standard open ended questions such as, "describe where you see yourself in 5 years," and, "Tell me about a time you experienced a conflict within your group and how you handled it." Nothing out of the blue so just make sure you have anecdotes available for all of your past jobs or school projects. At the end of the interview process I met up again with the hiring manager where we discussed in more detail what we were both looking for. Went over the scope and general timelines for some upcoming projects. Since I met with two different teams he asked me which one I might prefer working under. Overall I had a good interview experience. I was left with a good impression of the company and teams I interviewed with. Travel and food expenses were reimbursed in a timely fashion. A couple of days later I received a phone call and email with a job offer. Unfortunately we decided not to move to the Denver area and I respectfully declined.
