I applied online and the whole hiring process took more than a month! At first I was very excited about this online teaching program until it comes to the Mock Class. The feedbacks from the mentor teachers are pretty helpful. However, there's a certain degree of bias and false assumption when it comes to determine if you are qualify to be the VIPKID teacher or not. Especially if you already have teaching experiences you might have to turn all you learned from school to their philosophy of teaching. They expect you to be an actor or comedian instead of a teacher who wants to make a difference in children's life. It is very disrespectful and rude to deactivate my account due to the unsuccessful mock class without even explaining the reason why I was not qualify for this position. I was trying all my best and prepare all the props and got some good feedbacks. I thought everything went well until they deactivated my account. I felt that it was a waste of time for all the efforts that I have made, because at the end it doesn't even matter. It doesn't matter if you have years of ESL teaching experience or how much you love teaching children. It only depends on the mentor's bias opinions to determine whether if you can stay or not.
